Foxconn to Set Up New Mobile Phone Plant in Hebei, China

Taiwanese Foxconn, Hon Hai's mobile phone subsidiary, announced on November 20 that it will kick off the construction of a new mobile phone plant in 2007, aiming to further strengthen its market presence in China. This new 6,000-acre facility, the Hon Hai's ninth hi-tech park in China, will be located in the city of Langfang, Hebei Province, China, with an investment of approximately US$1.2 billion in phases, and is likely to make mobile phones for Sony Ericsson, Nokia, and Motorola.
